The Full Story
Based
in Bangor Maine, OpenCube was founded and
rapidly became a popular software company in
1996 when owner / developer, Jesse D'Alessio,
released the Internet's first commercial
applet effects for websites.
The software included the 'QuickLink Menu',
which was an image based or text based drop
down menu applet, and the 'vertical scroll'.
The scrollers smooth animation was a real
first in the then, new world of Applets, and
was used on the AT&T home page as well as
other high profile sites.
In response to growing DHTML browser
support, OpenCube started shifting gears
away from Applets and towards JavaScript
solutions in 1999. In 2000 a new generation
of 'QuickLink' drop down menus based on
DHTML and JavaScript was released under the
'QuickMenu' name.
Today these new generation Menus are pure
CSS, fully
customizable in an advanced visual interface
(Visual Infinite Menus), and are more popular than ever.
The menus are employed on high profile index
pages such as FedEx.com, BestBuy.com, and
Intuit.com.
Nearly every Fortune 500 company and nearly
100,000 other corporations,
organizations, and government institutions
have purchased licenses for OpenCube's
software products. We work hard to continue
this trend of success by constantly
developing new and improved software for our
customers.
Thank you for your support and interest in
OpenCube!
