Note: Reporting will not be available until the script is added to your page (see step 4) and a user has visited and exited the document.

Step 4: (Add Client Side Code)

MouseTrends uses a tiny (less than 5K) snippet of code to communicate client side activity to your server. Paste the code below directly after the opening body tag within your pages source HTML.

Step 3: (Install Server Side MouseTrends)

MouseTrends requires Microsoft IIS with ASP. Adding MouseTrends capabilities to your server simply requires adding the MouseTrends folder to your web sites root directory.

Download the Zipped MouseTrends Folder

(Save the above file to your hard drive, unzip, then copy the 'mousetrends' folder and contents to your web sites root folder. Make the folder and its contents publicly accessible via HTTP.)

Step 2: (Define the Content Area)

For MouseTrends to function properly you must define the actual content area of your web page. Mouse movement and click reporting is compatible with fixed width content only (centered or left aligned).

MouseTrends uses client side JavaScript to track visitor mouse events on your page, then logs this data on your server when the user leaves the document. Reporting is accessed through your web page using a unique control panel which shows user replays, overlay maps, flags, and more.

(Note: There is no third party or outside connections required with MouseTrends, all data is transferred using client side JavaScript and server side ASP from within your domain.)

This wizard will add MouseTrends to individual web pages, to get started click 'Next'.
